Installation steps and precautions for Synthetic Lawn on football fields
01. Foundation Treatments for Soil:
● Flatten and compact the ground, ensuring that the compaction ratio of the base layer is 93% or greater, the slope is 0.5% or less and that drainage is functional after construction is complete.
● Gravel layer: Lay a gravel layer of 10-15 cm and cover it with a permeable geotextile to prevent the sand from coming out and flatten it as well.
02.Laying of Lawn and its Installation:
● Marking of Field/Area-Lines: (As stated in the sketch/ drawing of the design and tolerances must be below 3 mm.)
Lawn laying direction:try to lay all lawn in one direction(such as in the direction of the main view).Use special tape and environmentally friendly adhesives to glue the seams.Keep the width of seams as small as possible to ensure that they are tightly connected.
03. Filling system
Quartz sand with a particle size of 0.3-0.6mm. The amount of quartz sand filling per square meter is 20-25kgs. And (normally the grass height is 50mm; The amount of quartz sand can be slightly adjusted according to the different heights of the grass.)
Rubber Particles: Rubber Granules ,Thermoplastic elastomer (TPE) Eco-Friendly Particles (1 to 3 mm particle diameter), 6 kg to 8 kg/m2 Fill Quantity, Anti-Static and anti-ultraviolet (UV) treated.
Key performance indicators for quality control:
Seam strength testing: minimum of 30N/cm in tensile strength at the seam of the carpet/grass to prevent the material from splitting/separating.
Drainage Performance Testing: Heavy Rain Simulations with a drainage rate of 30L per Min per M2 of turf.
Environmental Certification that the filling material and the Artificial Grass have passed the tests like SGS heavy metals and RoHS.
04. Maintenance Suggestions after Construction
● Initial Maintenance: After installation, allow it to stand for 48-60 hours to cure. For the first cleaning, use a soft-bristled brush to remove the dust on the surface.
● Long-term Maintenance: Deep clean every three months (using a dedicated lawn mower), and replenish 5%-10% of rubber particles every one to two years.
